Possibly the wettest triathlon on the calendar 'The Blenheim Triathlon' took place this weekend and we had a number of SAUK members and friends competing.
The girls tested it out on the Saturday. Bayly unfortunately had an accident on the bike. Bayls... hope you're okay!!! Newcomer Noelle did her second northern hemisphere race in as many weeks (I feel another race-mad-Cands is in our midst) and finished in a very impressive 1:32:20.
Our Eton superstar Scott Giles took on the big boys on Sunday in the Elite category and finished a legendary 14th with a time of 01:10:29. Scott... what can I say?? You rock!!
Newcomer Bryan stunned us all when he emerged 2nd out of the water and finished an awe inspiring 13th overall in the men's category. I like to think his time was somewhat inspired by the SAUK cheers of 'Bryan Bryan, he's our man' and 'Nice bum!' [he was wearing Diego's trisuit with SAUK on the bum] echoing over the historic grounds.
Geoff made his inaugural triathlon voyage and grinned the whole way round. Congrats on losing your tri-virginity Geoff and well done on a superb race!
Eugene, I think, punctured on the ride but certainly won the 'best tan' category. Nice to see you can do bite-sized stuff as well Eugene :-)
James Fleming, Michael Collins and Graham Roberts also braved the conditions and produced fantastic results. Guys... surely Sunday's die hard cheerleading squad is enough to make you want to join the club . Well done guys... it was great to see you all doing so well.
As wet and muddy as it was... it really was a fantastic day and we were inspired by you all! Special thanks to Ally, Mark the Shark and Cath Walker for coming out to support.
Next stop... Windsor...
