The swim was great, the bike was beautiful and scenic, then my injured knee’s gave out on me on the run and it was a shuffle to the finish line….through which Bruce encouraged and supported me (after racing by my side the whole race!)

Massive thank you to all the friends on the weekend who made it so special. The roar of cheering from all of you as we rounded into the finishing line chute will be engrained in my memory forever!!! You guys are great!! I’ll be back for more next year!!

I would just like to thank my amazing boyfriend for getting me through that run!!! Bruce Baby I love you.

When the torrential rains and thunderstorms awoke me on race morning… that last minute entry into NF seemed like a VERY bad idea…and I was cursing Tracey and the rest of you for having given me a bike for my birthday… for many of you have been witness over this past season to my many scars and bruises from an inability to ride a bike (well that's no longer an issue - check out the great bike split ! - Ed ).

As if learning to ride a bike wasn’t hard enough and with only 2 box hill rides under my belt…. What the hell was I thinking?!

All I can say now that I have officially broken my HIM virginity – is that it was AWESOME! I was smiling from ear to ear and my cheeks are still recovering – that’s ass cheeks and face!

Running under trained and with an injury and dreaming of the neurofen I had left behind in T2 the beauty, wildlife and support got me through the pain.

One sprint, one Olympic and one HIM under my belt in my first season of tri – next year I’ll be back for more. All that’s left is to get some “Agro B**ch’ training in the water from the boys so I can kick some ass!

Before I end my oscar speech there are always the ‘Thank-you’s’ Chicken ~ Nucci ~ Jules my training buddy for all the pushing out porcupine training sessions and fun!! Coach ~ Keeto… for the endless motivation and letting me ride ur bike :-0

From one very happy HIM Nut x

Sunday 24th September started at 1:30am for Kerry & I (NF Support Crew) as our tent lit up with lightening and we were woken by thunderstorms! I was personally quite relieved to be on the supporting side of the fence that morning.

Alarms went off at stupid-o-clock & we were greeted by a dark, gloomy, muddy and wet morning. But that did not deter our SAUK New Forest hopefuls … you guys did us proud. They were all smiles and full of excited (nervous?) chirps!! The race itself was fantastic and it was superb to be standing on the side-lines cheering you guys on.

Anyone that ever doubts the value of supporting should definitely give it a go … It is quite something to share in the excitement of the day and the celebrations at the end … and best of all you get to do it minus the lycra and without needing to break into a sweat!!! Oh – and don’t forget the many-many opportunities for ogling at eye-candy and sussing out the competition for next year! Next time there is an opportunity to support a friend / lover / stranger don’t hesitate on your answer – just say YES!

Thanks all you NF-Hero’s. I had an amazing day out with you all!!

YOU GUYS ROCK!
